Emergency Saline Tattoo Removal

Time-Sensitive Treatment Within 24 to 48 Hours

Our Emergency Saline Tattoo Removal treatment is designed to help lift fresh pigment before it fully settles into the skin.

This specialized treatment must be performed within 24 to 48 hours after receiving the tattoo or permanent makeup. Because timing is critical, we encourage you to contact our office immediately to determine if you're a candidate.

How Emergency Saline Removal Works

Unlike traditional tattoo removal methods, emergency saline removal is performed while the skin is still open from the tattooing process.

No Additional Needling

Within the first 24 to 48 hours, no additional tattooing or skin penetration is required. The treatment works with the skin's natural healing process without further traumatizing the area.

Osmotic Lifting Process

A medical-grade hypertonic saline solution is carefully applied to the freshly tattooed area. The saline helps draw fresh pigment toward the skin's surface before it has fully settled into the deeper layers of the skin.

Natural Healing

As the treated area heals, the lifted pigment becomes trapped within the forming scab. As the scab naturally flakes away during healing, much of the lifted pigment is removed along with it.

Important Guidelines

Because a fresh tattoo is an open wound, protecting your skin and promoting proper healing are our highest priorities.

Treatment Size

Emergency saline removal is limited to treatment areas approximately 2" × 2" up to 4" × 4" during a single appointment.

For larger tattoos—such as sleeves, half sleeves, or large pieces—we can typically treat only the most critical portion during the emergency treatment window.

The 48-Hour Window

Emergency saline removal is only effective within the first 24 to 48 hours after tattoo application.

After this window has passed, the skin begins to close and heal. If you're outside this timeframe, you'll need to wait approximately 6 to 8 weeks before beginning standard laser tattoo removal or traditional saline removal treatments.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can Emergency Saline Removal treat?

Emergency saline removal may be appropriate for:

  • Newly applied body tattoos

  • Fresh permanent makeup

  • Eyebrows

  • Eyeliner

  • Lip Blushing

Is all of the tattoo removed?

Results vary depending on the depth of the pigment, the tattoo technique, and how quickly treatment is performed. While emergency saline removal can significantly reduce pigment retention, additional laser or saline treatments may still be recommended after the area has fully healed.
